Idaho County Fair Parade
August 18, 2007
This is always a delightful parade for Luc and me. We have plenty of room to park and hitch up, easy access for the parade sign in and a grassy spot to wait before we line up. It’s a great route since it takes us past the hospital where the staff will bring many of the patients out to enjoy the festivities. Downtown the streets are jam packed with people. The parade continues to the edge of town where it makes a loop to go back downtown and then takes a jog onto a secondary business and residential route. Here Linda Nita, who does a beautiful organizational job as the parade chairman, hands out ribbons and cash. Luc won first place in the Equestrian Division and is now within a few points of winning his ADMS Driving Award Program.
I’ve always wanted to take a drive following the parade so with Luc in his new Pacific cart and I all dressed up in my fancy red silk shirt, black skirt and black bonnet with a red feather headed towards the fair grounds. The street I chose was extremely busy and we had to pull over to let the traffic pass. We drove a loop around the fair grounds which was terrific fun. That drive along with the parade gave us an hour of actual moving time. We had wonderful loading help when we returned to the trailer. Mr. Luc thoroughly enjoyed his celebratory dirt bath when we arrived home.
